The West Australian

A unique island bench is one of the focal points of this modern kitchen.
The bench has storage space and a sink area with an essastone benchtop. The other half of the island comprises a table-like section with a timber look, designed to be an informal meals area. Feature lights above the island enhance the kitchen’s contemporary look.
Part of the Switch Homes for Living display the Switcheight70, the kitchen was designed by the Switch Design Team and Giltedge Cabinet Makers who gave it a metallic bronze glass splashback and stainless-steel appliances, including a cook top and a fan-forced electric oven. All cabinetry has soft-close mechanisms.
The kitchen was designed to have plenty of storage and has overhead cupboards and a walk-in combined scullery and pantry.
The laundry is off the kitchen and was designed to offer plenty of space and ergonomic features with maximum storage.
It has overhead cupboards, built-in shelving, a built-in towel rail and plenty of benchtop space. Earthy paint tones and cabinetry in light and dark browns teamed with a white tiled splashback with a feature strip give the laundry a classic look.

A big walk-in shower is one of the stand-out features of the ensuite. The shower has a built-in wall nook for product storage and a mosaic tile feature wall.
The vanity is another focal point with its essastone benchtop, modern cabinetry and large mirror flanked by twin storage cupboards.
A bulkhead above the vanity adds to the impact. The ensuite has a separate toilet and a large window to make the most of the natural light.
