An elevation featuring handmade bricks gives this Willetton home, by Switch Homes for Living, its standout appeal. Despite being a new home on an established street, it blends in well, with its warm and inviting appearance. The judges were impressed, naming it the winner in its price class. “The beautiful handmade bricks around the home were refreshing to see,” they commented. “They gave it a nice front elevation.” A well-designed, well-finished interior also lifts the home out of the ordinary. Rooms are spacious, including a study and purpose-built home cinema with tiered seating. Natural light fills the central, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, which has marri floors and opens out to an alfresco area and garden. The kitchen has an extra-big white stone island bench/breakfast bar, stainless-steel appliances and plenty of storage. “The craftsmanship on this home was exceptionally high, from the bricklaying through to the painting,” the judges noted. “The quality was very impressive, right down to the finest details like sliding cavity doors and concealed powerpoints in the stone benchtop in the kitchen. “The marri timber floors highlighted the home, while the sunken theatre with its raised section felt like a real movie theatre.” The judges also were impressed with the layout that provided a free-flowing feel from the kitchen, through the dining and out to the alfresco area. The main suite also accesses the alfresco area. “This home is a highlight of the area, as it is brand new in an older street, giving it market relevance,” the judges concluded.
