Luxe for Less

September 22, 2015

The Sunday Times Home Magazine, August 30th 2015.

Drawing on it’s reputation for building beautifully appointed homes, Switch Homes has released the Azure Collection, a range of affordable, livable two-storey designs.

“Switch has a philosophy of offering well-designed , affordable homes,” sales and marketing manager Damian Monteleone says.

“When designing the Azure Collection, we took into consideration feedback from our clients and also the general market as to what people want from their homes. We took our time and finetuned the collection to get the right designs, range of homes, specification and ultimately, price.”

There are currently 10 designs in the Azure Collection, all of which feature acrylic-rendered front elevations, concrete floors with double-clay-brick walls, 1200mm aluminum entry doors, engineered stone kitchen benchtops and 900mm stainless steel appliances, including a freestanding cooker.

“We also currently have a no-cost upgrade to a range of Smeg appliances,”Damian says.” “Smeg’s inclusion in this range fits our philosophy of affordable luxury perfectly.”

The Azure range includes designs to suit a wide variety of lifestyles. The Monaco, Sorrento and Ibiza floorplans are “upside down” living, with the kitchen, living, dining and master bedrooms upstairs- ideal if you have a view to take advantage of.  The 7.5m-wide homes in the collection, including the San Marco and Valencia, have been tailored for narrow lots or even side-by-side development lots. Meanwhile, Monaco, St Tropez and Positano are wider frontage homes that suit squarer blocks.

“We also have homes with the master bed downstairs and all the minor bedrooms upstairs, which are perfect for families with older children looking for personal space for all family members,” Damian says. “Essentially, we have tried to cater for a large range of needs and are flexible with the design changes if required.” He says this design flexibility is what sets Switch Homes apart.

“The difference with Switch is we don’t want to compromise on the designs just to meet a happy price point, and then have an unhappy client once they move in and realise their homes isn’t really suiting their needs,” Damian says. “We offer our clients the ability to choose one of the Azure plans and then make changes to suit their family or personal needs. We don’t put restrictions on what you can do with these homes. The result is that clients feel part of the design process and end up with a house that meets their expectations today and into the future.”

Homes in the Azure Collection range from $276,990 to $3117,990.
