Smeg – Flourless Chocolate Cake


125 grams butter, chopped

200 grams dark chocolate, chopped

1 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 cups almond meal

4 eggs

Cream, berries and icing sugar to serve



1. Preheat Smeg Oven on Conventional Setting at 170◦C.

2. Place the butter and chocolate in a medium/large Pyrex mixing bowl and either microwave on medium heat setting, in short bursts until melted or melt over a saucepan of simmering water.

3. Add the sugar and almond meal and mix with wire whisk to combine.

4. Whisk eggs in a small bowl. Add to the chocolate mixture and mix again with a wire whisk.

5. Pour mixture into a greased and paper lined 22cm springform tin.

6. Bake for 40 minutes or until just cooked in the middle. Cool in the tin.

7. Remove from tin, place on serving plate and dust with icing sugar.

8. Serve with cream and berries.
