The new Switch Homes for Living Switcheight90 display home’s corner site is ideal for showcasing its sophisticated exterior styling, which includes smooth rendered walls, a mix of horizontal and vertical glazing, low-profile roof tiles in an earthy tone and a double garage with sectional door. A horizontal steel girder adds dimension in front of the timber-look feature tiling and brings balance to the main facade. Inside, the home is equally impressive, with a raised and raking ceiling and optional skylight windows in the main living area, and gleaming kitchen splashbacks and cupboard backs. Built-in cabinets create an internet zone or bar area beyond the kitchen and a walk-through bathroom services the children’s wing. Sales and marketing manager Lee Morris said it was exciting to be able to integrate new products, materials and design features in the display home. “Aspects of the home that work particularly well for me include some of the signature Switch features — nestling of the utilities in one area, an abundance of cabinetry in the kitchen and the inclusion of the internet area near the kitchen,” Mr Morris said. “The kitchen is really quite wonderful and we’ve been able to use the new Metaline product for the splashbacks and on the back of the island bench.” The kitchen has stone benchtops, lots of overhead and underbench cupboards and drawers, a deep walk-in pantry and stainless-steel cooking appliances. A door near the fridge recess opens to the laundry. A long island bench that separates the cooking area from the living and dining room has a boxy upstand at one end plus a breakfast bar on its outside edge. A dropped bulk-head above the kitchen emphasises the transition to the feature ceiling in the adjacent space. There is a raked ceiling above the living and dining area and optional skylights could be included as fixed panels or remote-controlled windows. Glazed doors at the back of the living and dining area open to a good-sized alfresco area under the main roof. Bedrooms are zoned to give adults and children privacy. The main suite has a spacious sleeping area, fitted walk-in robe and stylish ensuite. The outsized shower has a semi-frameless pivoting screen door. The study and a big theatre room, with raised and recessed ceiling, are also in this part of the home. Each minor bedroom has a built-in robe and a three-way walk-through bathroom has semi-ensuite access from bedrooms two and three.
